Por mí and Para mí: how to use them in Spanish

At Jarcha Español we work every day with our students to discover the peculiarities of our language. In this video, made together with Tomek, Audrey, Andrzej and Martin, we practice the use of por mí and para mí, two very common expressions that often cause doubts among Spanish learners.

Main content:

• Por mí: used to express preference or indifference regarding an option (on my part…). Examples: Por mí, you can use my car whenever you want / Por mí, you can study or not.
• Para mí: used to give a point of view (in my opinion…) or to indicate the recipient of an action. Examples: Para mí, the best book is Los cincuenta cardenales de Gambetta / Para mí, this matter is very important.

We also use para mí to refer to the recipient of an action: Para mí, orange juice, please / Do you want to cook something for me?
